Location: Camelford, Cornwall

Hours: 22.5 per week, including Wednesdays and Thursdays
Salary: £13.50 per hour (Living Wage)

About us
Nourish Kernow CIC is a non-profit regenerative market garden in Camelford. By cultivating community connections through volunteering and outdoor learning, we aim to grow wholesome local food that nourishes both body and soul.
Offering people a chance to engage with, enjoy and learn about regenerative agriculture – from those seeking practical experience or time outdoors in nature to boost mental wellbeing, to others passionate about sustainable living and enjoying local food through veg boxes.
We do this by offering hands-on volunteer experiences, educational opportunities and care farm activities centred around getting outside and growing together – enjoying tasty veg in the process!
The Role
We're seeking a part-time Community Grower to join us on a 6-month contract (with the potential for extension). This role combines practical market garden growing primarily, with volunteer coordination and community engagement, contributing to our mission of enhancing mental and physical wellbeing through regenerative agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
• Growing following organic principles: Bed prep, planting and seeding, harvesting, prepping and packing weekly veg shares and wholesale orders
• Working with and leading volunteers
• Engaging with the community and partners both on and offline, enhancing our social media presence and maintaining the website with support
• Planning and running seasonal events, with support from the directors
• Supporting the development of the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
Someone Who...
• Ideally holds a horticultural qualification or has other relevant experience in growing
• Is passionate about sustainable food production and community engagement, with a desire to pursue a career in it
• Possesses strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability or willingness to train others
• Is handy, keen to learn and solve problems
• Above all else, is competent, conscientious and enthusiastic.
Desirable
• Experience of working as a commercial grower in a market garden.
• Successful experience applying for funding, exploring opportunities and partnerships.
• Qualified first aider
• Knowledge of / or experience of care farming
In addition
This role is integral to the further development of Nourish Kernow CIC.
• You will need to be physically fit as it is very physical work being outside in all weather
• There will need to be flexibility in working hours, acknowledging the seasonal nature of growing food but with Wednesdays and Thursdays being core days.
• The role is line managed by the directors, a friendly group of volunteers, who will work closely with you and support you
• You will take an active role in the development of Nourish Kernow – we really welcome ideas and feedback
• Undertake other duties in line with purpose of the role.
